Review of The Rum Diary (2011) by Kyle S — 15 Mar 2012
I unfortunately cannot overcome from how far this adaptation strays from the Hemingway-esk novel written by Hunter S. Thompson. Depp, Eckhart, Ribisi, Jenkins and Heard offer great performances with beautiful scenery, but Robinson fails to bring the heart and soul of the novel to the screen with his misguided adapted plot.
