What wes anderson and owen wilson have achieved with this movie is something both profound and deeply emotional. These eccentric, yet flawed characters are all fleshed out perfectly with the charm, wit, and style that are the staples of anderson's films.
This film is often considered a comedy, but don't go in to this movie expecting a lot of laughs, but rather a broad range of emotions that could leave you laughing and tearing up at the same time.
Tenenbaums is a much more serious endeavor than anderson's previous two films, and it carries much deeper themes and more tragic characters, which makes the ultimate catharsis that much more rewarding.
One more note, the symbolism in this movie is superb but requires multiple viewings to catch all of it. Conclusion: if you appreciate films and/or have a quirky sense of humor, then you will certainly enjoy this film.
