Review of The Robe (1953) by Bob S — 21 Nov 2006
This movie is the second movie to be filmed in what we know as CinemaScope but the first released. This is one of the very first widescreen motion pictures and the technique although slightly different is still being used today on new movies and on most of our older favorite movies.
Every serious moviegoer should watch it atleast once. The film is from 1953, and Alfred Newmans music score creates a grand matiné feel to this movie. The plot is pretty simple: A Roman tribune executes Jesus and feels quilty during the early years of Christianity.
You will understand the rest, You must see this!
