Review of The Roaring Twenties (1939) by Kim W — 11 Dec 2009
ROARING TWENTIES - How can you go wrong with JAMES CAGNEY and HUMPHREY BOGART as rival [eventually] gangsters? The storyline moves at a quick enough pace and the ups as well as downs of CAGNEY is heart wrenching.
I felt sympathy for CAGNEY even though he was a hoodlum. Great performances, intriguing storyline, with only the minor flaw of the narrator trying to send the 'message' stay away from liquor.
