Review of The Roaring Twenties (1939) by Masorad ( — 18 Jan 2010
The Bogart tic (like he's trying to loosen tobacco lodged between his canines), the Cagney fleet-footedness (especially handy while meeting your maker on marble steps) and Walsh's composition (these shots are established!) all serve to make Roaring Twenties a cut above your run-of-the-mill WB gangster reel.
The newsreel framing device is also fun.
