Review of The Road Within (2014) by Steven G — 17 Mar 2015
This film has consistent shortcomings with talented young actors "playing" with mental illness types, Dev Patel bringing his usual goofy kinetic energy. Robert Sheehan uncharacteristically over-the-top, and Zoe Kravitz getting away with crap nobody would for long in a mental health facility.
I blame writer/director Gren Wells. Obviously the script is flawed, and that causes this potentially strong road-trip premise to come off as run-of-the-mill and predictable.
