Review of The River Murders (2011) by Michael V — 06 Nov 2011
It's hard to find anything new or groundbreaking in a serial killer movie anymore. But that doesn't mean we don't get a really good one once in a while. This one falls somewhere between the really good and rehashed unoriginal crap.
Ving Rhames and Christian Slater get robbed of screen time while Ray Liotta sleeps through his performance. Often seen walking around with his pot-belly sticking out and frequently mouthing a bunch of cliched sentences from a fairly weak script.
Which it hurts me to say that. But for being a small budget thriller it has it's moments and its bores. I've paid much more money to see a big budget movie that sucked a whole hell of a lot worse then this.
