Review of The Right Stuff (1983) by Patrick D — 22 Sep 2007
Faithful as a screen version could be to the wonderful Tom Wolfe book, which I highly recommend. Really shows the human aspect of the early space program. All the actors do a great job. Good special effects.
Good soundtrack helps re-create the feel of the times. Best of all, it's all true! Memorable lines: "Can't anyone deal with an American housewife?!" (LBJ) and Fred Ward's eloquent "Fuckin' A, Bubba!".
