Review of The Right Stuff (1983) by Randy P — 15 Nov 2008
A highly entertaining modern epic, with emphasis on the word EPIC. It's real damn long, but if you find the subject matter interesting, particularly the human element behind space travel, then the runtime flies by.
The cast is more than up to the task of creating nearly a dozen characters worthy of the three-hour investment. The camera work around the flights, particularly the first two Mercury missions is outstanding.
As I said, it could be a chore to get through for casual viewing, but it wasn't for me particularly. Strong recommendation.
