Whoa. What could be over-the-top survival story (and sometimes kind of is) is saved by wickedly great filmmaking. The distinctive look and sound (have you ever seen that much wide angle?) of the thing are so engrossing, almost hypnotic.
Tends to drag a bit in the middle, but whatever. And DiCaprio got all the attention, but it's Tom Hardy who really stands out.
