The Revenant is emotional, well paced, intense and cinematic. This movie feels like a rare case in this day and age where a production like this is able to use every tool in the box to truly capture the 'feeling' of being present in its world.
The use of longer shots with minimal movement and noticeably allowing digital effects to enhance sequences as a tool and not overwhelm the viewer stand out here. The acting is superb on this grit worn thrill ride.
From start to finish, I was completely enamoured with each sequence on this epic journey across the Dakotas. THIS is what film as an artform is all about.
