Review of The Return of the Living Dead (1985) by Joe M — 03 Nov 2011
What this film lacks in being scary it makes up in pure entertainment. The characters in this film awesome. They are hilarious with the way they act and dressed. I do not know if costume designer knew what teenager in the 80s dressed like, because they were the most ridiculous clothes.
The zombies are also well done, although in this film they seem to be extremely smart as well. The other thing is destroying the brain doesn't kill the zombies, as each separate part is alive, so you have to destroy every body part.
So it is an interesting take on zombies. I love the music in this film with its dark synth. and rock it works well with the film. My own problem was that it seemed like they didn't know how to end it, and I would have liked more complete picture as to what happen to the remaining characters and the zombies.
