Review of The Return of the Living Dead (1985) by Chris B — 12 Feb 2014
"The Return of the Living Dead" is a great and equally scary and funny little film that never takes itself seriously and makes for a fun watch. The film features a punk rock soundtrack and features the typical teenagers during the film but eventually involves a much bigger group of people who all have to fight to save their brains.
The zombies actually talk in this movie and explain that death and rotting causes pain in which eating living brains satisfies. The effects and makeup used were great for there day and still hold up rather well today.
The gore and bloodshed is great and coupled with the humorous elements makes it a very well balanced film that is much more then a simple parody on zombies. This was a very fun watch if you are a zombie fan and haven't yet seen this one, check it out!
