Review of The Return of the Living Dead (1985) by Aaron C — 13 Apr 2015
Nothing much happens for about 40 minutes and then all hell breaks loose. So it definitely had an influence on The Walking Dead. This came out in 1985 and I'm not sure why it took me 30 years to see it.
It's definitely an 80s movie, with punks, rock music, dodgy special effects, and nudity for no apparent reason - and it does it all so well. Makes no bones about declaring that it's ripping off George A.
Romero's Living Dead films, but introduces much more aggresive zombies that are, arguably, the hardest to kill of any z-film to date. Will appeal most to those of us that remember how cheesy the 80s were and are happy to forego modern-day effects and plot for a bit of fun.
