Review of The Resident (2011) by Jorge A — 05 Feb 2011
I'd be a total liar if I said I didn't really enjoy this. It's a throwback to those awful-but-so-good movies of the 90s like Sliver and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle and Sleeping With The Enemy.
And it's directed like a cheesy 70s thriller. But this all works in its favor. It looks super slick and doesn't take itself too seriously. At the thirty minute mark, the movie just makes itself clear that it aspires to be nothing more than a schlockfest.
It delivers.
