Review of The Resident (2011) by Brian S — 31 Jul 2012
I found this movie very similar to 'Sliver' with a dash of 'Pyscho' included. Great landlord character and well acted. A great and surprising visual transformation and change of character, feelings and mindset of the Landlord of the appartment Swank's character moves into, brilliant appartment, well looked after and surprisingly cheap! Nothing comes for free in this world and there's always a catch.
The pace and tension of the movie increases later on as she has gut feelings about her Landlord, feelings of intrusion whilst sleeping and finding strange clues that she can't work out. In the third quarter of the movie an obsession becomes dangerous and she's fighting for her life in the walls and crevises of her own appartment.
Great thriller, well camoflauged character. Small part for Christopher Lee too.
