The Remains of the Day (1993) One of my all time favorite movies and certainly one of (if not the) best movies of 1993. Such a great period piece the filming costuming sets etc are just out of this world.
Oh! To live as a character en in Evelyn Waugh book!! (this book was not written by Waugh but is the third published novel by Japanese-British author Kazuo Ishiguro. Waugh's books are very similar in nature) Money and wealth in the end do not a happy man make.
Brilliant performances by Hopkins and Thompson. This film was nominated for a slew of Oscar awards but did not win one-Schindler's List swept the awards that year. Nominated for several BAFTA's but did not win any.
