Review of The Red Violin (1998) by Xquizzyt 1 — 28 Dec 2009
A beautifully crafted movie employing an imaginative thread about a violin, to stitch together historical facts (luthiers of Cremona, The 1720 Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius, Niccolò Paganini, The Red Revolution in China, Nostradamus like predictions).
John Corigliano beautiful compositions played by Joshua Bell are a treat to listen too. If you are a violin player you might find some new 'positions' to play the violin with (and rest?) ;).
