Review of The Red Violin (1998) by Matt B — 07 Jun 2013
Beautifully photographed, well acted, and a score that brought tears to my eyes. Sadly it slows down so drastically towards the end it's almost unbearable to watch. Why? Because the music fades, the history of the violin dims, and gets replaced by characters that we don't care about, a plot twist that could have been explained quickly, and information that bears no importance to the rest of the story.
Disappointing.
