Review of The Red Cliff (1949) by Lee G — 12 Jun 2012
Superbly choreographed battles, plausible costume, beautiful cast, but lacking in any attempt at depth of character, personality, or historic accuracy. However, the film is notale for its subtext - individual regions of China uniting against greedy centralized and corrupt dictatorial government.
