A visceral, extraordinary masterpiece. Yes, this is a DISTURBING, strange, religious, psychological horror movie. You will love it. You will hate it. It is meant to be divisive. I viewed mother! as an audacious look at the fall of humanity and loss of faith. If there is a God, why is this world falling apart? mother! shows that God only cares about receiving attention but not about helping humanity. He's a narcissist.
So yeah, this message could easily offend religious zealots. Whether you love it or hate it, there's no mistaking that mother! sticks with you long after the credits.
This is the best movie I've seen this year.
