Review of The Razor's Edge (1946) by Roger R — 10 Aug 2010
An acceptably faithful and quite good adaptation of a book which is hard to bring to the screen as it encompasses some very crucial questions and indeed gives a good summary of Hinduism. Clifton Webb is perfect in his portrayal of the socialite Elliott and the fire in Tyrone Power's eyes matches that portrayed in the book.
Isabel is also well depicted by Gene Tierney. People always say the book is better, well in this case it is, it has to be for this kind of story, but see the film and read the book - one informs the other.
