I love John Cusack but his interpretation of Edgar Allan Poe was disappointing; He went for the "psychotic" instead of the "melancholic". And it was this disappointing interpretation that allowed for the story to unfold because a ruthless, psychopathic Poe would be easier to taunt than the sad Poe.
