Review of The Ramen Girl (2008) by Elaine M — 09 Sep 2009
A directionless American woman is stranded in Tokyo after her insensitive boyfriend abandons her, and as would anyone else, she decides to become a ramen chef. Although there is not really even one laugh-out-loud moment, it's still totally charming, completely harmless, and yet another excuse for myself and others like me to stare at Brittany Murphy, who is the entirity of this film's substance anyway.
It's not going to change your life, but throw it on as a light-hearted background movie, and you shouldn't be disappointed...
