Another one of Woody Allen's forgoten gems from the 80's, Purple Rose of Cairo is one of my top three favorite Allen movies. Mia Farrow and Jeff Daniels give two of the best comedic performances by tapping into the 40's style of acting and mutating it into two fully rounded portryals of real (and one not so real) people.
The ending is one of the best bittersweet finalies that I have seen bring tears to peoples eyes (No joke). Also, seeing Jerri Blank's step mother as a movie star is priceless.
