Review of The Public Enemy (1931) by Josh J — 06 Dec 2007
For film historians and just plain old movie fans, this is may be an essential viewing. It is also, however, rather dull at times and makes use of several title cards despite being a talkie. Even the famous grapefruit scene isn't as graphic as I'd been led to believe.
It's an okay film, but it helps to know what you're in for. Now that I've commited cinematic blasphemy, I'm done.
