Review of The Public Enemy (1931) by Hunter D — 02 Mar 2008
Another one of the great early gangster films, it's hard to deny the presence that Cagney brings to the screen. Like some of the other gangster pictures of its day, this movie has some plot elements that are poorly executed or not fleshed out fully.
Still, the ending packs a powerful emotional punch.
