Review of The Proposition (2005) by Graham B — 15 Sep 2008
A fantastically bleak western which ranks up there with the all-time greats of that genre. Much more than a shoot-em-up flick, The Proposition is a triumph of cinema. With a pacing and tone reminiscent of the films of Terrence Mallick, it explores the dark aspects of human nature left unsupervised and the ludicrous conceit of civilization's attempts to tame the Earth.
