Review of The Proposal (2009) by James W — 12 Oct 2013
Sandra Bullock's best role since Miss Congeniality, and Ryan Reynolds yet again proves he is great at comedy. He plays an assistant to Bullock's witch of a boss, who is threatened with deportation, and forces put upon Reynolds to marry her.
The Proposal wastes no time and gets straight into the laughter, the funniest scenes feature Sandra Bullock trying to save a puppy from a hungry eagle, and when her and Ryan Reynolds run into each other naked and fall over, I almost fell off my chair because I was laughing so much.
Betty White, Mary Steenburgen and Malin Akerman are a great supporting cast and all provide great chemistry with the two leads, but it's easy to say the chemistry between Bullock & Reynolds is brilliant and is the main drive for this film.
I wish I saw this film sooner, I'm just glad I caught it on TV, this is the most fun I've had watching a comedy since Just Go With It! The Proposal is hilarious and ideal for a movie night.
