Review of The Prophecy II (1998) by Luke P — 16 Sep 2008
A superior sequel, The Prophecy 2 takes everything that was good about the first movie and increases it. More action, more sketchy theological musings, lashings of gore; and the acting messiah himself, Christopher Walken.
He saunters into frame like a rock star, and gives the slightly hokey script real gravitas, each line out of his mouth given a real ironic weight due to his unique acting style. This sequel also has a higher budget than it's predecessor, and it shows with the movie's effects, nicely building to a climactic final battle in Eden (all concrete and twisted metal).
A thoroughly entertaining film, complete bullocks, but thoroughly entertaining.
