Review of The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009) by Lynda M — 11 Jul 2009
Lost its way a few times but on the whole a really enjoyable flim with some good performances (PLEASEEEEEEEEEE someone enroll Keanu in some acting classes!).
Loved Blake Lively as the young Pippa, slightly biased maybe but I really thought she lit up the screen and was perfect!
I enjoyed the exploration of the relationships between the characters especially mother/daughter. There was a part I loved when Pippa described eternally failing mother/daughter relationships, saying that you do the opposite to your mother when bringing up your own daughter hoping to get it right and failing only for her to do the same with her daughter ... I really wish I could remember the exact quote cos it explained it far better than I ever could!
On the whole a fairly slow moving plot for the average film goer but if you're looking for something a bit quirky it's definitly worth a go!
