Review of The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009) by Erica T — 15 Feb 2010
I love Rebecca Miller for her writing for literature, the screen and her directing abilities. I knew I'd love Pippa Lee after seeing the trailer, it is just like the book, Miller seems to be one of a few filmmakers that can make that happen.
I was so happy to see Blake Lively not remind me of Serena from Gossip Girl (good character, but I didn't want her to play this character the same way). Robin Wright is perfect as the adult Pippa Lee, Maria Bello captures the manic mother and Keanu Reeves is even good as the love interest.
Zoe Kazan played the character of a hateful and then understanding daughter perfectly. This film is a little serious, but very funny in a non ha ha way.
