Review of The Prince of Tides (1991) by Jerry E — 13 Apr 2012
Streisand is over her head. Her performance is "acting," a witless, inept personation with no authority or believablity. The movie itself is a self-important cliché whose characters reveal every detail about themselves in mind-numbing slow motion and whose outcome is obvious from the gitgo.
Soap opera psychology at its worst. Nick Nolte, Blythe Danner, and Kate Nelligan waste their time and talent.
