Review of The Power of the Dog (2021) by Miles_Long — 27 Feb 2022
This movie is a joke right? The dialogue and homoerotic scenes feel like they were written by Jackie Treehorn. Seriously, this was the satire trailer “Satan‘s Alley” brought to the big screen. We where laughing hysterically at the grooming scenes because the homoeroticism and gay juxtaposition was so blatantly obvious that it in came off as a SNL skit.
Me and the boys did not know we were going to watch a gay grooming movie, so when the grooming started we were sideswiped with laughter and eye rolls.
The first hour meandered around while Phil (Cumberbatch) was being a overwrought one dimensional bully. The movie never really got engaging till the twink got home from college and the hilarity ensued.
This is up for best picture, but at its core it’s a badly written gay porno without the porn.
