Review of The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946) by Felicia C — 04 Oct 2007
I am always slightly taken aback at how moralistic films from this era can be, in spite of the noir form. But this is of course during the height of the Hayes Code. Lana Turner is stunning, but the best noir films have a strong man AND woman â?? the men in this film, from the impotent husband to the fairly inept lover, don't sufficiently hold their own against the female lead.
