Review of The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946) by Azim M — 03 May 2012
Another riveting example of the drama and suspense you get in all the best Film Noirs. John Garfield and Lana Turner are sensational, Garfield as the fast-talking, likeable drifter who falls for Turner, his new boss' beautiful, shady wife.
While most seem to prefer the really well-known classics by masters such as Billy Wilder or Carol Reed, I still think it is up there with the greats. Not as essential viewing as some others, but still an enjoyable and atmospheric experience.
