Review of The Place Promised in Our Early Days (2004) by Private U — 18 Mar 2009
Shinkai does it again with his debut feature length film. Made almost entirely by himself, it's a simply unbelievable achievement considering this movie would still be amazing for a Studio of 100's.
It's a gorgeous, delicate, soft-spoken love story that boasts the most beautiful backgrounds & locations ever to be seen in Animation. His character animation lets it down occasionally, but this is a remarkable film nonetheless.
Look out for his new movie '5cm per second' out now in Japan.
