Review of The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976) by Jared C — 22 Jul 2012
More laughs as Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers) manages to avoid assassination......but not on purpose!
Sellers masters the role of the fool ever so craftfully. In one of the funnier sequels, the former Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Herbot Lom) is all set to be released from a nuthouse. That is until a hilariously unconfortable visit from Clouseau drives him mad, again.
I admit that there's too many fights between Clouseau and his servant Cato (Burt Kwouk) in the sequels. However, they are still a lot funnier than Jean Reno's surprise attacks on Steve Martin's Clouseau. You can always expect Cato to jump out at him in the movies but he has hilarious timing. Thats what keeps the orginals classics and the dieheart fans coming back for more.
