Review of The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976) by Dawdlingpoet — 24 Nov 2021
If you've seen any of the other Pink Panther films featuring Peter Sellers, then you'll have a good idea of roughly what to expect. I suppose its somewhat like a pre-Jackie Chan, James Bond parody with extra good doses of slapstick comedy.
In a way it looks dated but most of the said slapstick comedy isn't exactly ruined because its a few decades old (it dates from 1976) and I was quite amused and entertained by it. Clouseau is still very much the bumbling bufoon type, with (but of course!) the most grating French accent (or should that be, ackk-zant?!), which made me think of the English policeman character from 'Allo 'Allo, who I imagine was copying the character of Clouseau.
All in all it was a funny and entertaining watch that I'd happily recommend.
