Review of The Piano Teacher (2001) by Steve C — 06 Sep 2007
A very intriguing film with an insight into sexual psychosis. At times I felt ill (particularly in the infamous mutilation scene) but I like when films challenge me. Being a former-classical musician who has seen the pressures and conservative nature of the "scene", I was highly amused to see Erika's repression come out as a form of sexual masochism.
A film that I feel requires repeated viewing for further understanding.
