Review of The Piano Teacher (2001) by Scott K — 19 Mar 2008
One of the most intense movies I have seen. Haneke has weaved what is probably his most important story to date. A truly disgusting film that had me convulsing in my seat. This movie really helped me in a lot of ways, because I am dealing with similar issues as the characters (don't read to much into that!, it's universal, not specific).
The narrative was so consistent that I was able to apply my own truth to it (which seems different from other people's). Overall, a powerful movie that I don't know if I'd want to see again, but I will always hold it in high regard.
