Review of The Piano Teacher (2001) by Matt G — 09 Sep 2009
Out of all of Haneke's later works, especially the ones that have to do with making the audience feel dirty and sick for choosing to participate in the film, this one got under my skin the most. Incredible performance by Huppert, but I'm sure you've heard about it already if you're heard about this movie.
I really like how the movie seems contrived when looking back on it, because of how perfect the events of the film are corresponding to the protagonist's arc. Maybe that's not exactly how I wanted to say what I feel, but it is something to do with that.
