Jane Campion's controvertial and erotic drama that is a little uncomfortable at times, but always compelling.
Holly Hunter won and Academy Award as a 19th century mute who is sexually awakened in New Zealand by a mn who had saved her piano from destruction. Anna Paquin as her daughter also won an Oscar.
