Review of The Piano (1993) by Ramon M — 27 Jan 2012
One of the best films ever; it's beautiful. Just beautiful. One of the only films I've given 5 stars to. I find myself wanting to watch it again and again, and I find something new in it every time.
The acting is brilliant, and the characters are interesting, if not extremely likeable (but who says they have to be likeable? They're very flawed, very human. That's what counts). The music is delicious, and captures the mood of the film perfectly.
Anyone obsessed with Gothic-Victorian Romanticism (like myself) has to watch this film. Perfect.
