The Piano, perhaps, has marked Holly Hunter's pinnacle of her career, procuring an Academy Award as best actress on 1993. Surely, Ada Mcgrath had been perfectly portrayed as a nonchalant, mute woman, bizarre, perhaps; yet strangely beautiful in her own way. The imprint of her image, with her hair braided and neatly coiled around her ears; her stare, so stern, and filled with mysterious burden; her complexion, pallid and rather whitish- such stoic silhouette of hers- one would find it peculiarly haunting. Yes, Ada's mere image will remain perpetual in my head (thanks to Holly Hunter).

Adorned with artistic spectacle, with azure ambiance, and dismal story, The Piano successfully exudes a plunge of gloom; that I can not help but reckon the movie as a terrific mood piece, simply an archetype of a classic and timeless movie.
