5 out of 5!

The Pianist is a brilliant movie from start to begining, but then again thats what you would expect from a good cast and crew. It has great acting and not just from the main characters, but even from the smaller supporting roles as well and fine directing from Roman Polanski even though I'm not a big fan of him. It's a movie for anyone who wants to experience a true dramatic role.

I have to give the story credit, even though it is very depressing. It's a story that is sad but true because it takes place during one of the worst times in the Earths history which is the Holocaust. It's about the famous pianist.

Władysław Szpilman as he progresses through his career as a professional pianist until the Germans invade his home country of Poland. Then he must put aside his career in order to help his family and himself to survive.

As always, there's a main thing to every movie that makes it so great and for this movie its the acting. Let first start off by saying that Adrien Brody who plays Władysław Szpilman definitely deserved the oscar for best actor, because you can feel that true emotion from his role during his struggle to survive in the Germans Invasion of Poland. Although Brody's performance was the best, one thing I won't denie is that every one else did there part for the movie and that includes the family, the Nazis, and the other people who strugeld to survive.

As I have said before, I am not a huge fan of Roman Polanski, but I do admit he has talent. I also admit the he very much deserved the academy award for best director which took him years to achieve by the way. He has that ability to take a true story and show the audience of the cruelty of what the Nazis did and the great loss of those who suffered and died during invasion of Poland.

In conclusion, its great movie with excellent acting, fine directing and a story that show true emotion and the will to survive.
