I honestly think it was amazing. I loved the direction of the photography, how it showed only one side of the Phantom's face when he was feeling one thing or the other. For example, when he felt lust and anger toward Christine, his mask was turned toward her.

The lyrics were clever and the songs struck a chord, which made me sob buckets by the end. Gerard Butler did surprisingly well for the Phantom, contrary to what everyone else might say. He wasn't the best singer, no, but his voice had that perfect hint of danger and power and sadness.

The storyline, edited from its original version, was done quite well, where Christine actually understands and loves the Phantom in the end. Moot point: I loved this movie, and always will.
