This movie has been my favorite of all time since it came out. I absolutely don't understand the low critical rating. Everyone I know who has seen it loves it. I cry,I laugh, and I marvel at the artful costuming, choreography, and sets.
Gerard Butler is a sexy, complex phantom to Christine's pure "audrey Hepburn" innocence. Minnie Driver adds her comedic flair as the diva. I have seen Phantom live on Broadway and in Las Vegas, and both ran flat for me in comparisson to this film.
I wholeheartedly recommend it to those who love period pieces, music and romance.
