Review of The Phantom of the Opera (1962) by Mike L — 27 Oct 2007
Not the best adaptation of this story, nor the worst. More entertaining than the 40s Universal version, less so than the new musical adaptation or the classic 20s silent one. Odd seeing Michael Gough play a bad guy.
Not so odd seeing Herbert Lom playing an insane guy. Did he ever play a sane character I'm starting to wonder. Not the best Hammer film, but the direction is good.
