Review of The Phantom of the Opera (1925) by Elliott F — 24 Apr 2010
This is one of the better Phantom adaptions, if not THE best. I found some of the acting a little melodramatic, but then again, it's the silent era and probably more the director's fault that anyone else.
Lon Chaney in the film can only be described in three words: OH MY GOD!
So far, I haven't seen many of the great Chaney's films, but this man's acting and make-up and everything about how he acts Erik is amazing. I could go on for hours.
